At Wekfest New Jersey 2026, a singular Acura NSX from 1992, owned by Marby Enriquez since 2014, served as the focal point of the show. This iconic machine perfectly illustrates the breathtaking transformation of Honda’s revolutionary mid-engine sports car into a razor-sharp, purpose-built time attack competitor. Following an initial experience with the NSX in its factory configuration, Enriquez embarked on a rigorous and comprehensive metamorphosis, driven by a singular goal: to elevate both the car’s raw performance and its visual presence.

These are small, compact vehicles meticulously designed to comply with Japan’s strict national size and engine displacement regulations. Even the largest kei cars remain considerably smaller than a Mazda MX-5 Miata, with their engine displacements typically capped at approximately 660 cubic centimeters (cc).
This specific N-BOX fully embraces its unique, boxy minivan-inspired form, offering a truly distinctive blend of Japanese practicality and quirky character. Finished in the sportier “Custom” trim level, it features an assertive front fascia and a boxy silhouette that immediately recalls Honda’s previous Element crossover. A standout detail that caught the attention of many attendees was its license plate, which boldly declared “K24 NA.” Whether or not the owner successfully managed to stuff a version of Honda’s popular 2.4-liter K24 inline-four engine—nearly four times the size of the stock N-BOX powertrain—under its hood remains a mystery, but the car definitely stood out as a uniquely Japanese creation showcased on American soil at Wekfest New Jersey 2026.

And finally, the crown jewel of the Honda displays at Wekfest New Jersey 2026. Positioned near the far end of the show floor was a pristine Championship White FD2 Civic Type R, but alongside it sat something even rarer: the Mugen RR.
Regarded by many enthusiasts as the ultimate Type R, all 300 Mugen RR units were sold out within approximately 10 minutes of their release, with 299 remaining in Japan and a single car exported to the United States. This particular example was later imported to the U.S. and features factory Mugen camshafts, ECU tuning, and an upgraded exhaust, boosting output to a potent 237 horsepower. High-end carbon-fiber bumpers, an aluminum hood, and the signature 18-inch Mugen wheels reduce the overall curb weight and sharpen performance across the board, creating a machine that prioritizes speed and precision above all else.
